A universe of parallel dimensions called the Crossworlds is the setting of this intriguing forerunner to The Matrix. Joe (Josh Charles) is an average college student surprised to learn that his father was from another dimension. A jewel in Joe’s possession is a key to other worlds, and Joe joins forces with a retired mercenary (Rutger Hauer) and a beautiful soldier (Andrea Roth) to fight a madman bent on conquering the Crossworlds. Crossworlds is 1996 film starring Rutger Hauer, Josh Charles, Stuart Wilson, and Jack Black. The film is directed by Krishna Rao. The film is about a college student named Joe who is drawn into a battle to save the world from arch-enemy Ferris. Joe's heirloom pendant just happens to be the key to the staff that opens doors to the Crossworlds. When Laura shows up to check on the key and Ferris' goons begin their assaults, they run to semi-retired adventurer A.T. for help and guidance.
