Flickering Lights

The Oscar-winning Anders Thomas Jensen — whose style has been described as a cross between Tarantino and the Coen brothers — gives us a clever, savagely funny gangster comedy. Dispatched by a mob boss to rob a diplomat, Torkild (Søren Pilmark) and his partners decide to steal the loot, and head for Barcelona. After their van breaks down en route, they find refuge in an abandoned building which Torkild buys in hopes of opening a restaurant. Even though his loyal crew is a tad inept, they unite in the effort and magically, incredibly, are able to turn their lives around.
