Helen (Gwyneth Paltrow) is about to find the answer to the burning question: what if? Sliding Doors is a fascinating spin on romantic comedy, providing a unique view of Helen's love-life in two parallel universes. In one reality, she catches her boyfriend Gerry (John Lynch) cheating and dumps him, quickly falling in love with a new man (John Hannah). In the other reality Helen is violently mugged, stuck in a miserable relationship with Gerry, and works several jobs to pay the bills. Sliding Doors, above all, is an examination of how one tiny event can change the entire course of history.
