It would be insane to actually attempt to list specifics. But I like well made older movies that have something to say. In this vein a lot of Charlie Chaplin films fit the bill. Also some of the fun movies before color like Gold Diggers of 1933. Anything with witty and thought out dialogue from the time. Philedelphia Story comes to mind. The great musicals and also the hilarious comedies. The Gay Divorcee and It Happened One Night. The real inspiring, Mr. Deeds Goes to Town and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.
