It was interesting to hear about what it was like to be in such a popular stage production and how it affected the lives of the child actors, but, in the end, this documentary just kind of left me feeling sorry for the women who seem to view it as the high point of their lives.

This film appears to be nothing more than a vanity vehicle for Philly (Antimatter) and her band, Eager Meat. That said, I found myself fascinated with it. The movie seems to inspire a lot of actively hostile feelings in people, though I'm not sure why. It's slow, the script is chaotic, and nearly all of the acting is sub-
par, but it's not even a fraction as offensive as an early John Waters film. In fact, I think that's exactly why I liked it -- it struck me as a mild version of something John Waters might have made back in his guerrilla film making days.
