I love film of almost every genre. My favorites are Indian Cinema, French Cinema, Italian Cinema. The latter 2 most times fall into "Art House Cinema" which I also enjoy to some degree. Outside of these I watch a large number of Independent Film. Little known Directors or Producers.
My friends say I watch films like a director. The 1st viewing I watch for enjoyment. The 2nd I look for the error had in scenes or what appear as a possible error missed by someone editing the film. The 3rd - I watch the director commentary if there is one. the 4th - I go back and watch with new eyes at the scenes I have just watched for subtle things. Perhaps things that may not even have been mentioned in the directors commentary that now come to mind. Then later at a future time again just for fun.
As of late I am now learning Film making. Yes, friends I am venturing into learning film making. (I think it's the most natural step for someone that eats and sleeps film) I have taken advantage of the advent of DV film making as a new and creative format. As well it gives me the chance to play. I look at it this way if I do nothing more than Learn to shoot a decent home video it's all worth it. It's all about living life to it's fullest. This has been the reason for my absence from JAMAN. I am busy with camera in hand and laptop. (makes it difficult to write with the camera in my hand...) I am loving the journey that this is taking me. See you all very soon.
A quick update to all my friends here at Jaman.
I recently received news my mother has ovarian cancer. She is will be starting chemo shortly. Please understand if I haven't added you as a friend or replied to an email it isn't personal. I will be back with my Jaman family as soon as I can.
To all my friends here ... after long time away I have returned. And hope to be move active again here. As for my mother she passed away back in July just days short of her 71st birthday. But she lived her life fully even to the end. The weekend prior to her birthday she had scheduled a big birthday bash for herself. She kept the plans for the party, celebrated with friends from all over the country and well as a few via webcam from overseas. And the party settled down to a close - she bid everyone a goodnight. And peacefully left. She is and will always be my hero.
Lots of love and joy to you all.
