Many exploitation films present a dizzying assortment of sleazy events in the context of an ostensibly moralistic, cautionary tale. This giddy story (from the pen of exploitation giant Edward D. Wood, Jr.) is such a film. The heroines of The Violent Years are that rare specimen of the American teenage girl: high school honor students by day, hard-driving delinquents by night, these debutantes tear up the open road in search of murder, mayhem, and kicks.
