Eleven years after the conclusion to ‘Chinatown’, Jake Gittes (Jack Nicholson) is a Los Angeles private eye hired to catch a man’s wife (Meg Tilly) in the act of infidelity. His client, Jake Berman (Harvey Keitel), has much more to hide in a dirty real estate deal that threatens to take down anyone that gets in the way, including Jake Gittes.
