When Jeremiah (Martin Sheen), the flamboyant Texan patriarch of the Sparta family, dies, the family gathers for the funeral only to kick up a dust storm of rivalries and jealousies. Meanwhile, Jeremiah's restless ghost pays a visit to Little Sparta, his troubled grandson who's growing apart from his macho father (Robert Patrick). A star cast that also includes Christopher Noth and Joanne Whalley shines in this refreshingly offbeat comedy with a barnstorming spirit to match.
