The short story collection Yume jû-ya (Ten Nights of Dreams) was a vivid work by famed Japanese novelist Natsume Sōseki. These stories are brought to cinematic life by some of Japan's finest and freshest filmmakers. Highlights of this remarkable omnibus film are the opening chapters from veterans Akio Jissoji and Kon Ichikawa; an offbeat short tale from Ju-On/The Grudge director Takashi Shimizu; a gorgeous anime story by Yoshitaka Amano and Masaaki Kawahara; and a truly mind-bending finale courtesy Yudai Yamaguchi (Battlefield Baseball).
