"Splinter", an experimental microchip that accesses and projects the deepest thoughts of it's carrier through a super computer, has been implanted into five unknowing guinea-pigs by a well-intentioned doctor. As the doctor demonstrates to her mysterious financial backers the immense possibilities of reading the minds of others, the consequences of their actions soon take on very dramatic and unforseen results.
