Following the tortured mind of Jean, a puppeteer and serial killer who drives around France. Leavening his silent, intense narrative with bursts of experimental filmmaking, Philippe Grandieux's sometimes abstract film polarized its audience. Marc Barbé is powerfully effective as the killer; his performance is matched by an equally driven turn by Elina Löwensohn (Nadja) as Claire.
