Not your average father-son bonding movie, "Simon, El Gran Varon" relates the strange tale of Don Andres, a wealthy businessman who dotes on his first-born son, Simon. But when the boy begins to take an unusual interest in dressing up in women's clothing and in collecting dolls rather than toy trucks, Don Andres is, needless to say, slightly alarmed. Not surprisingly, Simon grows up to be not quite the son his father expected, and, before long, Simon finds himself disowned and ejected from his family estate. The tables turn in a curious and most tantalizing way when, one night, Simon finds Don Andres patronizing the big-city cabaret where he's been working. What the son, in the guise of a woman, finds out about the father sets the stage for an unforgettable confrontation.
