At age 18, Israeli girls are drafted into the Israeli Defense Force (IDF). Seven years after her term of IDF service, filmmaker Hen Lasker returns to the site of her military training to create Seeds of Summer. Tracking two girls through the IDF’s training process, Lasker tells the story of the first time she fell in love with another woman (her military instructor). The parallel stories combine to create a compelling portrait of feminine identity and sexuality.
