The Second Robotech War (depicted in Robotech Vol. 2: The Robotech Masters, also available on Jaman) has left the Earth in a state of chaos. With Earth’s defenses dismantled, the Invid, a mysterious alien race, have easily conquered the Earth to harvest protoculture, a source of alien energy now abundant on the planet’s surface. Lieutenant Scott Bernard, armed with a special new form of battle armor, begins a quest to destroy Reflex Point, the Invid’s home base. But Bernard isn’t fighting alone for long. < Less

A small cell of resistance fighters continues to gel around Lieutenant Scott Bernard as the Third Robotech War continues. With new ally Rand in tow, Scott arrives in a town ravaged by the Second Robotech War. Searching for supplies, Scott and Rand find themselves beset by Invid scouts and, sadly, traitorous humans. But a new light shines in their lives as Annie, an inexperienced but plucky teenager exiled from the town, joins their mission. < Less

Now accompanied by Annie (and shadowed by a mysterious but apparently benevolent figure in Cyclone armor), Scott and Rand wind up in a desolate border town. A nightclub concert by the famous singer Yellow Dancer offers quiet respite until a brawl breaks out. The fighting soon escalates into a larger battle for law and order, but new allies step forward to even the odds. < Less

Scott’s group of resistance fighters – now boosted by the soldier Rook, the mechanic Lunk, and fighter pilot Lancer – pauses to regroup in a dark forest. Realizing that the use of protoculture by their weapons and armor betrays their location to the Invid, Scott attempts to teach the group members survival skills. But his lesson is quickly cut short by the arrival of an Invid patrol, and he finds his own chances of survival growing slim. < Less
