The damaging and life-long effects of marijuana abuse - including addiction and criminal insanity - are depicted in this notorious camp classic. Two innocent high school kids fall into the orbit of a group of dope fiends: one of them dies, and the other ends up in jail. Though intended as an educational film, Reefer Madness was bought by an exploitation producer and spiced up with torrid scenes of sexuality and weirdness. The resulting film achieved cult status in the 1970s, and still retains its bewildering, hilarious charms into the 21st century.

Reefer Madness (aka Tell Your Children) is a 1936 American exploitation film revolving around the tragic events that ensue when high school students are lured by pushers to try "marihuana": a hit and run accident, manslaughter, suicide, rape, and descent into madness all ensue. The film was directed by Louis Gasnier and starred a cast composed of mostly unknown bit actors. It was originally financed by a church group and made under the title Tell Your Children.
