Subhash Ghai’s Bollywood revenge drama is perhaps his finest work, anchored by a powerful, award-winning performance by Raakhee. When a woman’s husband is murdered, she is cast out onto the street with her two sons. The woman’s sons grow up on opposite sides of the law; one (Jackie Shroff) is a police officer, the other (Slumdog Millionaire's Anil Kapoor) is a dreamer looking for quick riches. Both sons find their loyalties conflicting with their mother’s thirst for vengeance.
