This beautifully-acted festival winner is as much an absorbing character piece as a telling cross-section of life in the modern-day Middle East. Malek (Ziad Saad) wanders the bustling streets of Beirut, hoping to connect with Zeina (Alexandra Kahwagi), the woman who left him but who he still loves. Meanwhile, 15 years since his father disappeared, Malek's mother Claudia (Julia Kassar) is only now willing to sign the paperwork declaring him dead.
