Achingly gorgeous songs and visuals, together with Meena Kumari's dynamite final performance make this a Bollywood costumer par excellence. Desire and shame vie for the heart of the courtesan, Nargis (Kumari), who yearns to fall in love and does, with an aristocrat (Raaj Kumar).
