Spanning decades, and anchored by a strong lead performance by Amitabh Bachchan, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar is a definitive Bollywood tragedy. An orphaned boy is adopted by a Muslim woman, who names him Sikander. As an adult, Sikander (Bachchan) attempts to find happiness with a woman who had shown him rare kindness in the past. But attempts to forge meaningful relationships are thwarted at every turn, and Sikander is overpowered by his painful, tragic destiny.
