“An accomplished debut… A small miracle!”
-San Francisco Examiner
Ambitious young writer Marvin (Chris Coburn) decides to follow his Beatnik muse, and move to San Francisco's Mission District where he dreams of writing his first novel. He finds plenty of inspiration in the Mission's vibrant youth culture, at a time just before the dotcom boom forever gentrified it. But Marvin finds his writing efforts continually thwarted by the raucous ways of his musician roommate Jay (Joshua Leonard). Their testy relationship may make them the hipster equivalent of "The Odd Couple." But as their neighborhood changes, Marvin and Jay wake up to their futures, and the knowledge that life won't always be the grand adventure of youth, and that, in each other, may lie a most valuable friendship.
