Pakistani immigrant Ahmad spends his mornings selling steaming cups of "coffee regular" to rushing New Yorkers from his coffee & bagel cart. In the afternoons, he battles traffic to return the cart to a warehouse, occasionally peddling bootleg DVDs along the way. A new acquaintance is shocked when she realizes Ahmad was a famous singer in Pakistan. Ramin Bahrani's Man Push Cart is an intimate portrait of a man struggling with issues of identity, and the harsh realities of finding a place to belong in a faceless American metropolis.
