This film follows the roller coaster career of Yuri Orlov (Nicolas Cage), from his early days in Little Odessa, selling guns to mobsters, through to his rise in the ranks of weapons dealers. Along the way he forms a business partnership with an African warlord and his psychotic son.
Yuri's intense life of ups and downs leaves him a changed man. We see him wreak havoc on his relationships with his younger brother (Jared Leto), his wife who is a famous model, and finally his relationship with his own heart as he battles with his own inner demons. Directed By:

Lord of War is a 2005 political crime thriller film written and directed by Andrew Niccol which starred Nicolas Cage. It was released in the United States on September 16, 2005, with the DVD following on January 17, 2006 and the Blu-ray Disc on July 27, 2006. Cage plays the antiheroic protagonist, an illegal arms dealer with similarities to Russian arms dealers Viktor Bout and Leonid Minin. The film was officially endorsed by the human rights group Amnesty International for highlighting the trafficking of weapons by the international arms industry.
