A sobering and moving account of WW2 hero Bob Slaughter, a D-Day veteran who spends his time speaking with high-schoolers about the costs and perils of war. Slaughter's Virginia hometown suffered the highest human losses per capita during WW2, and that, together with his own battlefield experiences, gives Slaughter the determination to give America's youth a perspective on war that the government will not as America wages a new and terrifying conflict in Iraq.
