Though packaged as a Gina Lollobrigida vehicle, this swinging, sleazy film’s focus is actually Jaci, a young stud on a quest for thrills and love. Jaci goes to Ibiza and beyond, encountering lusty bohemians, thieving hipsters, a deranged heiress, and an adulterous photographer (Lollobrigida). The Lonely Woman is a fascinating curio of a time when A-list stars appeared in darker, sexier films, and follows its characters’ hedonistic pursuits to their dark consequences.
