Before helming a slew of faithfully gory Hollywood horror remakes, director Alexandre Aja introduced his bloody, intense vision with this disturbing French film. College student Marie (Cécile de France) joins her friend Alex (Maïwenn) for a weekend with Alex’s family in the country. The two are beset by a towering, bloodthirsty madman, and Marie is helpless to watch as he sadistically butchers Marie’s family. Aja subverts our knowledge of the genre, propelling Marie to a terrifying climax.

The film is written by Alexandre Aja, Grégory Levasseur, and the director, Khalfoun; the three have worked on other genre films as well, including the 2006 remake The Hills Have Eyes. P2 was released theatrically in the United States on November 9, 2007. The name of the film comes from the parking garage level in which the film takes place. P2 was rated "R" by the MPAA for "strong violence/gore, terror and language."
