“De Mornay brings so much to this performance that it lifts off the screen…”—Roger Ebert
Roger Vadim’s remake of his own debut film acknowledges its roots, then takes off boldly on its own path. Rebecca de Mornay is a force of nature as Robin Shea, a fugitive whose dalliance with politician James Tiernan (Frank Langella) lands her back in prison. She makes a deal with a handyman (Vincent Spano) to pose as her husband in exchange for $5000. Now liberated, Robin resumes her lusty life of abandon, just as Tiernan mounts his next political campaign.
