Sam (Patrick Swayze) and Molly (Demi Moore) are madly in love. The beautiful life they share is torn asunder when Sam is murdered, the victim of a random mugging. As Molly mourns the passing of her soul mate, mysterious evidence around her suggests Sam is not far, just on the other side. A local psychic, Oda Mae (Whoopi Goldberg), feels Sam’s presence too and is compelled to convince Molly that her lover is near. Sam has reason for watching over Molly as his death may not have been a random crime after all.
