The First World War was marked by many epic battles, but between April and December of 1915 one of the most ferocious bouts of fighting broke out. This particular conflict became known as the Battle of Gallipoli, and filmmaker Tolga Örnek researched the story for six years, culling his text from the surviving letters and diaries of soldiers from both sides of the famous conflict.

Gallipoli (Turkish title Gelibolu) is a 2005 film by Turkish filmmaker Tolga Örnek. It is a documentary about the disastrous Gallipoli campaign, narrated by both sides, the Turks on one side and the British soldiers and Anzacs (soldiers of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) on the other side.
