This live-action adaptation of the 1980s apocalyptic graphic novels follows the tale of one man's quest to reverse the sickness that has plagued his world. Kenshiro (Gary Daniels) must wander the wastelands, his inherited spirituality and sense of honor shielding him from the harsh enemies that wait for him there. Before he can rescue the planet from certain doom he must battle the evil Lord Shin to retrieve his lover, who was taken prisoner by the villainous tyrant. Fist of the North Star is relentlessly grungy, seamlessly blending elements of Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome with traditional anime themes to create an atmosphere like no other.

Fist of the North Star (北斗の拳, Hokuto no Ken?, literally "Fist of the Northern Dipper"), also known as Ken, the Great Bear Fist, is a Japanese manga series illustrated by Tetsuo Hara and written by Buronson that was originally serialized from 1983 to 1988 in Weekly Shōnen Jump. The story was adapted into two animated television series, as well as a few feature films and original video animation.
