The late John Hughes was the 80s' reigning writer/director of Hollywood teen comedies, and he reached his apex in this hilarious escapade. Matthew Broderick is a downright magical teenager who rousts his best friend and girlfriend for a last hurrah before graduation. Their often surreal quest takes them through a dizzying array of Chicago landmarks, and culminates in moments of epiphany for all three. This film touched an entire generation of American teenagers, and remains a beloved classic today.
