While the wife and kids are away, big shot lawyer Dan Gallagher (Michael Douglas) has a casual affair with coworker Alex Forrest (Glenn Close). When their tryst is over Gallagher has no intention of continuing their relationship, but Forrest is unable to let their steamy night of romance go and resorts to harassing him and his family. Fatal Attraction is a 1987 thriller film about a married man who has a weekend affair with a woman who refuses to allow it to end and who becomes obsessed with him. It stars Michael Douglas, Glenn Close and Anne Archer. It was directed by Adrian Lyne. The film was adapted by James Dearden and Nicholas Meyer from an earlier short film by Dearden for British television Diversion (1980).
