Ever Amado is a hurting and bitter illegal immigrant from El Salvador. He left the country with his wife Flor to escape the brutal civil war, only to find himself alone in a clandestine border hospital as a widower and an amputee. In his isolation, the anger and bitterness that have ruled Ever for so long finally begin to weaken.
