In the late 1950s, five villagers set off to see the ocean for the first time. Rataplan is the town sweeper, Seven Plus Three Ten sells lottery tickets, and Quintana is a gravedigger. Vasco is a laborer working for the driver Rodriguez, a quiet type who’s in love with the sea. As they pull out of town in Rodirguez’s jalopy of a truck, a stranger climbs into the vehicle for what will prove to be a very interesting journey for them all.
