A costume fantasy adventure from Hong Kong's Shaw Bros. studio that offers a quaint tale involving a stolen sword, torn families and a mystical swamp region with all kinds of fantastic menaces to threaten the uninitiated. Directed by Lo Wei, this is a charming and delightful film which looks forward to the more hyperactive swordplay fantasies that would emerge from the Shaw Brothers' studio in the late 1970s.
