Doctor Island

The film opens with Nicholas, sitting alone on a hillside by the ocean. He is called by an unseen force, a voice which is mixed with the sound of the wind and waves. The voice belongs to Doctor Island, and the boy is his patient. He ignores the God-like voice. Out of the brush appears Ignacio. Nicholas follows him to a clearing on the beach. Ignacio barks at him, and Nicholas runs off. On another part of the beach a woman named Diane appears. She treats him like a caring, gentle person. Nicholas goes off to find Ignacio to learn how to fish, and to try to feed himself and Diane. He does, and the three of them eat at Ignacio’s fire. The next morning, Nicholas finds Diane’s lifeless body. He screams and yells at Doctor Island, but it is as futile as screaming at the sky.

Suddenly Nicholas awakens in a lab, thrashing around on a table, and Doctor Island looks down on him from a glass booth. A couple of orderlies restrain Nicholas, and the Doctor comes down to inject a sedative. Doctor Island is once again in control.
