This stylized anime feature is a high-octane provocation from Production I.G. (Ghost in the Shell; Kill Bill, Vol. 1). Two amnesiacs with superhuman abilities are interned in the lunar prison Dead Leaves. The mismatched pair brings together a colorful array of prisoners (including Purple Turnip and Chinko Drill) to combat Dead Leaves’ domineering warden. Directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi (cult anime series FLCL), Dead Leaves must be seen to be believed.

Dead Leaves (デッド リーブス, Deddo Rībusu?) is a 2004 anime film produced by animation studio Production I.G. It was distributed in Japan by Shochiku, in North America, Canada and the UK by Manga Entertainment, and in Australia and New Zealand by Madman Entertainment. It is directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi. It is notable for its fast pace and energetic visual style.
