As Hurricane Katrina approached New Orleans, residents were forced to abandon their pets during the evacuation efforts. This documentary by filmmaker Mike Shiley captures the movement to rescue over 50,000 animals from the devastation left in Katrina’s wake. Rescue and relief workers from around the world banded together for this unprecedented effort, and Shiley captures moving stories of animals reunited with their loved ones or placed in new, loving homes.
