The Courage to Love

The inspiring account of the first African-American saint, based on a true story of a black woman who is part of a mixed-race affluent society in pre-Cvil War New Orleans. Rather than accept her traditional role in this well off society, Henriette Dalille (Vanessa Williams) rejects the match arranged by her father (Stacy Keach) and is drawn to a French doctor (Gil Bellows). Henriette must then decide between her love for the doctor and the pressing need to help her fellow African-Americans in New Orleans.
