Veteran director Sidney Lumet (Fail-Safe, Dog Day Afternoon) ventures into supernatural territory with this eerie drama adapted from Robert Marasco's Broadway hit. Beau Bridges is Paul, the new gym teacher at a Catholic boys' school. He witnesses the conflict between two professors: a tyrannical Latin teacher (James Mason) and a respected, gentle English teacher. Their conflict escalates when a series of mysterious pranks turns deadly, and Paul begins to sense an otherworldly presence behind the strange behavior of his students.
