A mysterious man, Avinash, comes to Calcutta, obviously a stranger to the city. Right away, a tumultuous, thrill-a-minute story is set into motion. Avinash finds his way to a seedy rooming house where he meets a firecracker of a woman, Bulbul. She immediately proceeds to con him into letting her stay in the room he’s paying for. Avinash is looking for a man called Lakhan, a bad-tempered, violent goon from Bihar. Lakhan, in turn, makes every effort to kill Avinash – and comes dangerously close. Slowly, as this complex, dark story unravels, we realize that Avinash’s happy family was torn asunder by a terrible tragedy that he seeks to right. Look out for amazing performances from the superb cast – Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee and Manisha Koirala.
