The story of Solomon and Sheba is given a 21st century update in this vividly-realized New York indie. Tariq Trotter is Sol, the leader of an up-and-coming Brooklyn rap group. A car wreck brings Sol together with Sara, a beautiful Jewish girl at odds with her heritage. A strong love blossoms between them, even as their communities begin to conflict around them. Reminiscent also of West Side Story, the film is buoyed by music by popular hip-hop ensemble The Roots
