The withdrawn hitman Frank is called for a strange assignment. Terminally ill crime boss "The Man" hires Frank to carry out a hit both on The Man and on the woman he loves. When Frank discovers that the Woman is a long lost lover, he aborts the assignment and tries to escape with her. Frank immediately finds himself targeted by a rogues gallery of assassins. Newcomer Frank Krueger is an assured, taciturn hero, balanced against an all-star cast of colorful adversaries including Charles Durning, Michael Madsen, and David Carradine (in one of his final roles).
