Boxers and Ballerinas

Four youths—two Cuban, two Cuban-American—are BOXERS AND BALLERINAS, and this moving film documents their struggles in Miami and Havana. Though the film offers considerable insight into US-Cuban relations, its main focus is on its four characters. The film captures the characters’ resolve to meet the physical challenges posed by their sports, and their reflections on their common heritage. BOXERS AND BALLERINAS offers a meditation on the relationship between two countries, and a moving portrait of the resilience of youth.
