During a blackout that shrouds New York City on a hot summer night, four psychopaths escape from a prison bus. When the escapees take control of an apartment building, lone cop Dan Evans (Jim Mitchum) must step in to save the innocent residents and dole out justice. Based loosely on the real blackout that shook New York in 1977, Blackout is a suspenseful, well-crafted exploitation film in the vein of Assault on Precinct 13.
