This spiffy indie midnight movie generates considerable suspense, juicing its familiar plot with effective cinematography and believable performances. Three joy-riding young friends are ousted from a roadhouse after a brawl. Making their way home, they are stalked by the shadowy driver of a long black Cadillac. Their problems only seem to escalate when they offer a ride to a stranded policeman (Randy Quaid). Director John Murlowski bases the film on personal experience, building the tension beautifully throughout.
