Beyond The Years

A wandering musician returns to his village in search of his long-lost sister. He encounters an acquaintance from decades past, who invites him for a drink. Their ensuing conversation takes them on a journey into their past, and confronts them with truths about the woman so strong in their lives. Celebrated South Korean filmmaker Im Kwon-taek’s 100th film is a deliberately old-fashioned melodrama, paying homage to the roots of pansoori (a form of Korean folk music) and the timelessness of its spirit.
