The Best of Times

Nineteen-year olds Wei (Wing Fan) and Jie (Gao Meng-Jie) are best friends living in the suburbs of Taipei. Their unstable homes are rife with family conflict and the boys search for a way to escape. When Wei is promoted from nightclub parking valet to debt-collector in a tough street gang, he persuades his boss to hire Jie to work alongside him. Things begin to spiral out of control when they are given a gun as a reward for a job well done. Jie becomes reckless and dangerous when he has the gun in his hand and the boys find themselves on the run when collecting a debt from a rival gang turns violent.
