Madeleine Stowe is Jennifer, a beautiful but sheltered wife to a rich husband. But Jennifer, unknown to her, is the daughter of Angelo (Anthony Quinn), a mob boss whose gentle bodyguard Frankie (Sylvester Stallone) has been quietly shadowing Jennifer for years. When Angelo is assassinated, Jennifer must suddenly contend with dangers she’d never dream she’d face. Played largely as a comedy (?!), Avenging Angelo offers fine acting, including a surprisingly sensitive turn by Stallone and, alas, Quinn’s final performance.
