“Delicate and witty, deadpan and wise, Miss Law is a real find.” -- New York Times
Japanese tourist, Tokio (Masatoshi Nagase), travels to Hong Kong to sample his favorite Chinese culinary delights. His high standards are left wanting by the restaurants in Hong Kong, but when he runs into the fifteen-year-old girl Wai, she takes him home to sample her grandmother's masterful cooking. Wai is waiting to join the rest of her family in Canada, leaving her grandmother behind. In Hong Kong she has her first sexual experience with a boy from school, while Tokio explores a love affair of his own. Themes of displacement and cultural change abound as the change-over to Chinese rule looms on the horizon.
